PSB v12 - Web Filtering

I have been testing the new web filtering functionality of PSB v12, and have a couple of points to feedback:

  • When a site is blocked, you are presented with a message that the site is blocked and a button labelled 'Home Page' you can press, but it just takes you to 'about:blank' - can this block page be customised? It would be nice to customise the link so it takes a user to the Acceptable Use Policy for, for example. Some people may also like to customise the text that is displayed on the block page.
  • There are no web filtering reports in the portal. Previously, when PSB has blocked the Angler toolkit (for example) this is reported as an infection and triggers an alert. It is fair that web blocks as a result of blacklist or category blocking are not listed as infections, but are blocks reported/logged anywhere? Are there any plans to include reports on web filtering?

Thanks,

Nick

    Hello NickJ,

    Thank you for your feedback.

I forwarded  it to the product management Team.

We do not have such features for the time being but they will be considered in the future.

    Hello,

How does that bode for the privacy of the end-users at the endpoints? E.g:

    User: ycherkpaqvn

    Blocked category: adult site

    URI: www. XXXX.XXX

    Hi Tamas,

Yes the privacy angle would indeed need to be considered before any such function would be implemented.
