GateKeeper service causes big slow down/lag

Hello,

Since a few days we experience some strange issues on our fileserver and rds server.

The RDS user profiles are redirected to the fileserver but on another disk.

I upgraded F-Secure Server Security from 11.x to 12.x but the problem remained.

I noticed that when I had most of the f-secure stuff disabled exept for the web deamon and fsgkhs (gatekeeper) the performance monitor still showed that fsecure was doing some stuff in the background.

When I turned off the gatekeeper server everything boosted again.

Are there any reports yet that a possible bad update or something causes this behaviour?

What is the point of this service (firewall?) and do I need to have it running?

Due to a file lock on one of the vmware files set by our backup software I had to reboot the host where this server is running on.

    Again the same missery.

I even had to stop all fsecure services before the server became responsive again.

    Hello,

It is not recommended to run a generic AV solution on virtualization due to performance burden. Like most AV vendors do, F-Secure also has a resource-optimized solution for virtualization protection, called Scanning and Reputation Server:

Please talk to your local partner about it.
