Connection Control jumps in randomly
Hi!
I have users complaining, that several times a day Connection Control jumps in, even if they are not visiting any special sites (banks etc).
I had this confirmed today, while I was browsing to https://techinternets.com/copy_calc and connection control popped up.
Is there a way to make connection control less aggressive? This is really disturbing my clients. OTOH I would not like to turn it completely off. We are running FSFCpr 12.31 build 105

Hello,
Sorry for my reply. I'm only F-Secure user (their home solutions).
Because Connection Control maybe based on Banking Protection (avaialble with Home solutions) -> I decided to try it with my systems. And I able to repeat troubleview with browsers where not supported F-Secure Browsing Protection extension (for proper handling HTTPS).
With my own experience -> Banking Protection (Connection Control) triggered by wepay.com (used with your noted URL in some parts of their resources).
With enabled F-Secure Browsing Protection addon/extension -> BP-session is not triggered;
With disabled extension or with Microsoft Edge (Windows 10) -> BP-session is triggered.
I'm not sure about workarounds with business solutions. It's can be as known trouble or limitations with handling primary/secondary requests.
Except potential point that Browsing Protection extension maybe available with F-Secure Computer Protection too:
Thanks!

Hello Hyvokar,
In order to better investigate this issue, could you open a support ticket including an fsdiag of the affected machines? Debug logs for connection control might also be asked later on if necessary.

Hello everybody,
We can't reproduce the problem locally. Mentioned website https://techinternets.com/copy_calc doesn't lead to activation of connection control on our environments.
Support guys failed to find any related support tickets opened from participants of this community post.
So, we are still waiting for more information from you for further investigation.
Best regards,
Vad

I have seen this behaviour before with FSIS.
It was NOT triggered by the page that you entered/try to open but by other content on the same page. This could be banners, pictures, just anything that is loaded from a site that we want to protect.
I.e: you use open www.myforum.com and the forum loads some picture/banner from http://www.paypal.com/.../ad.gif
As these additionally loaded contents vary from user to user and from company to company and their gateways maybe even depending on coockies it might not be reproducable.
To debug you would need to save a page that triggers this with all content to disk, ZIP it and provide to support.
Additionally you could try to create a PDF from that page and safen the page information from extras
Hiope that helps.1 -

@Vad,
Hello,
Sorry for my reply.
Does it with difference between Home solutions Banking Protection and Business solutions Connection Control?
If not... experience from my previous reply is still possible to repeat.
With Microsoft Edge (extension/addon is not available) OR with Internet Explorer 11 (when F-Secure Browsing Protection is disabled) -> your noted URL will trigger Banking Protection.
Based on "wepay.com" (resource?! under website). With enabled BP-extension -> Banking Protection is not triggered (based on proper handling HTTPS?! requests).
Thanks!

Hello Ukko,
Yes, there are some differences between current Home and Business Suite solutions.
Also, BS customers in this thread doesn't mention any manipulations with Browser plugin.
So, I assume it was enabled, when they get this false CC activations.
Best regards,
Vad

Hello,
Yes, indeed right.
Just it was only my own feelings that it can be Microsoft Edge (where extension is not available, at least, for home solutions). Based on something - I suspected that it can be Windows 10 and its default browser. And just like potential other browsers may ask for activation addon (which maybe is not clear -> done or not). Based on this -> I tried with Microsoft Edge (where it was possible to repeat); And then with Internet Explorer 11 (where was required to disable extensio for repeat).
Thanks and sorry for my replies!
