How to access settings for a non-installed F-Secure product in FSPMC?

Dear Sirs,

If I would like to see/browse the "Advanced Settings" tree for FSAV Exchange protection, using the FSPMC 13.11 console, but do not have the "FSAV ESS" product installed, so what can I do?

I have already manually created a "dummy" endpoint and imported the ESS12.12_Premium JAR file in the PMC, but even then the + sign isn't offered next to the "F-Secure Email and Server Security" line, so the detailed settings view tree cannot be expanded.

I feel this restriction is a serious hinderance for mobile test or study scenarios, e.g. a full Windows Server OS + Exchange server + FSAV ESS installation would be too heavy to run on a notebook PC. Is there anything else I could do in this case to magically bring out the missing + expanded sign in PMC?

Hello Tamas,

 

"+" before the product name (like F-Secure Email and Server Security) is not present in PMC Advanced settings regardless of the presence of any host with this product installed in the PM. Same happens with all products, for example F-Secure Client Security. If there is at least one host with such product, this line is shown with bold font but still without "+".

 

"+" before the module name (like F-Secure Anti-Virus for Microsoft Exchange) appears if the MIB related to this module is present in the PM database. All MIBs available for the moment of PM release are built in it by default.

 

Please, attach here the screenshot of your PMC with Settings  (Advanced view), if you think something is wrong. Probably we will need the diagnostic information from PM for further analysis, but let's start from the screenshot.
