Hello,

is there a way to use the Client Security Sotware on a dedicided client without using policy manager?

I have a lot of hosts they arent't in our network, but they also needed a Client Security installation who update their definitions from the internet.

Best regards,

    Hello keykey93,

Export latest CS 14 MSI installation package from your PM. You can leave the same PM address, or provide some fake. Use this MSI to install CS product on your standalone clients. They will download the updates from the Internet, with not more than failover interval delay in comparison with connected ones. Initial download of updates after clean install may take a bit more - 3-4 hours.

    Hello,

In that case I would recommend asking F-Secure Corp., through your local partner, to convert a portion of your Client Security (likely Business Suite license) seats to F-Secure PSB (i.e. cloud-based management version of the F-Secure One Client endpoint protection). They have done that for us previously without any objection. That way you could keep constant track of those computers' security status, even when they are outside of company premises.

Installing standalone F-Secure means you won't know anything about protection status on the particular computers. The anti-virus software will be gone from those PC faster than blink of an eye, due to nefarious / stupid / over-confident user activity, take that for granted. (Note that F-Secure suite has little resilience versus unauthorized uninstallation and deactivation.)

With F-Secure PSB (Protection Service for Business) you can at least see what bad things users try to download and you will notice if F-Secure is uninstalled and the user can be reprimanded to put it back. You can also see in PSB when false virus alarms happen, which are a common cause of user-initiated protection uninstallation in standalone products.

Furthermore, F-Secure PSB can support Android smartphone / tablet protection, which is unavailable with Policy Manager.
