Autodiscover Windows Hosts no longer discovering

Policy Manager is no longer discovering new hosts when I hit refresh. The domain is still listed in the left column, but after maybe 15 seconds of the spinning wheel (during the so-called refresh), nothing populates the list.

This particular server is a DC that has the DHCP and DNS roles installed. Both are functioning correctly.

I am using Policy Manager 9.00.30231.

Any recommendations?

    Hello,

Please upgrade to the new FSPM 10.01. That one has more advanced AD integration and is based on active-DB hosted communications repository, not just a passive communications directory share. (Please take care not to use 10.00, only FSPM 10.01 from here: http://www.f-secure.com/en/web/business_global/support/downloads/-/carousel/view/78 )

In-place upgrading is supported for FSPM 9.xx -> 10.01 and goes straight-forward, but of course do a backup of the comms directory and signing keys first, just to be extra safe.

Best regards, Tamas Feher from Hungary.

Upgraded to 10.01 to no avail. Nothing is populating the list when I attempt to autodiscover, both quick and detailed methods.

    Hi,

on the machine, where you run the PMC do you see (all) the hosts in network neighborhood?

    Is the browsing service started?

What do you see if you launch the console on the PMS or the PDC?

The browser service is running. Just to be safe, I restarted it.

Now that I check, my PDC is not listing any computers in the domain when I browse it.

PMC displays what is found in network neighborhood. So get that working and you should see the hosts.
