Atlant Changelog
This is the initial release of F-Secure Atlant.
F-Secure Atlant is a platform for building applications that are able to scan and detect malicious files.
Atlant provides a REST API for scanning files and managing the product configuration. Applications and services can use the API resources to analyze content using always up-to-date heuristics and statistical techniques. Atlant provides a scanning service to protect clients against viruses and other harmful files, exploits, network-based attacks, and other security threats.
Features and Benefits
The development kit offers the scanning functionality that utilizes multiple scanning engines and cloud-based file and network reputation services.
When deployed, the scanning service:
- scans files, emails and URLs for harmful content,
- protects content in real-time using cloud-based scanning,
- includes cloud-based reputation services for both files and network addresses,
- scans both HTTP requests and responses,
- includes multiple scanning engines,
- ICAP support, and
- is always up to date.

New Atlant (1.0.72) update has been released. This update introduces the following changes:
- CSLP-3586: Added support for Policy Manger management mode for centralized configuration management. This feature requires F-Secure Policy Manager 15.
- CSLP-3655: atlantctl get command will no longer display the values of potentially sensitive settings (such as secrets and keys) by default. To view the value of these setting additional --sensitive command line flag needs to be supplied to the get command.

Atlant Virtual Appliance has been Released (2020-09-08)
We are happy to announce the initial release of Atlant virtual appliance. Atlant VA aims to make taking Atlant into use even easier by introducing a new installation wizard and a menu-based configuration system for simplifying common administrative tasks.
The virtual appliance is provided as a VMWare compatible OVA image.

Known Issues
Currently, the user needs to manually change the firewall configuration of the appliance if they wish to add new scanning, authorization or management endpoints. This can be achieved using the firewall-cmd command.

- CSLP-3802: Fixed an issue where Atlant installation would be named as UNKNOWN in Policy Manager if the machine did not have a DNS name assigned to it.

New Atlant (1.0.89), FSBG (1.0.491), and BaseGuard (1.0.508) updates have been released. FSBG and BaseGuard are part of Atlant. These updates include the following changes:
- CSLP-3770: Add support for installing a specific version of the product using the --product-version activate option. This is currently supported for standalone Atlant installations. Using --product-version option requires that the version 1.0.11 (or later) of Atlant RPM or DEB package is used. Please note that using this feature requires that the machine where the product is installed is able to contact fsapi.com domain.
- CSLP-3715: Change default Atlant installation directory. For new installations, all components related to Atlant will be installed under the /opt/f-secure/atlant directory.
- CSLP-3734: Added status REST API for querying engine and server versions.
- CSLP-3797: Fix an issue where reinstalling the product with a different management mode would result in an error.

New pinnable Atlant version "atlant-2020_1" has been released. Product version pinning enables Atlant installation to be locked to a specific version of the product. When product version has been pinned the installation will still receive new engine & definition updates. Atlant supports product version pinning in standalone mode.
Each pinnable product version has an associated expiration date after which the version will no longer be supported. For "atlant-2020_1" the expiration date is 2021-11-10T09:00:00Z.

- CSLP-3624: New API for scanning URLs embedded in files.
- CSLP-3625: New API for scanning emails for spam and phishing.
- CSLP-3873: New ICAP API for scanning files with Security Cloud.
- CSLP-3676: New API for blocking content based on the URL. Requests can now include a set of forbidden URL categories (for example gambling or webmail) along with the URL and Atlant will detect if the URL is classified to belong to the forbidden categories.
- CSLP-3874: Fixed an issue where service restarts could cause Atlant to report licensing related errors when scanning files.
- CSLP-3810: Fixed an issue where errors from fsbg-statusd would sometimes show up in journal during updates

- CSLP-3708: Added a new atlantctl load sub-command for restoring settings. The load sub-command differs from the preexisting set sub-command in that in the case values for some settings are omitted, load will set them to their default values. This can be useful when restoring settings from a backup made with an earlier version of the product that might not contain all the settings present in the current version of Atlant.

New Atlant (1.0.116), BaseGuard (1.0.555) and FSBG (1.0.532) updates have been released. BaseGuard and FSBG are part of Atlant. This update includes the following changes:
- CSLP-3571: Added a new status sub-command to atlantctl command-line utility. Status sub-command makes it possible to inspect the state of the product and see various statistics related to scanning.
- CSLP-3892: Improve handling of sensitive setting values in atlantctl command-line utility. Atlantctl will now warn when sensitive setting values are omitted from its output.
- CSLP-3888: Support scheduling the product to be automatically activated on the next boot. This feature can be useful in scenarios where Atlant is included in a virtual machine template that can be cloned and instantiated multiple times. By scheduling the activation to only happen when a new virtual machine is booted, each virtual machine can be activated separately. This feature requires the use of the latest Atlant installer.
- CSLP-3900: Improved the robustness of product activation. If product activation fails unexpectedly, it should now be possible to simply try activating the product again without the need to first manually uninstall the product. These improvements require the use of the latest Atlant installer.
- CSLP-3929: Fixed an issue where the last category was missing from URL content category query responses.
- CSLP-3913: Updated OpenSSL to 1.1.1k
- CSLP-3891: Fixed an issue where unexpected SIGPIPE signals could lead to service failures.
