Released a fix for the license control mechanism. This fix ensures proper calculation of the licenses in use, even when a mailbox is temporarily failing to connect to the Microsoft Services. Before this fix, mailboxes on temporarily failure state were excluded from the calculation, leading to a situation where the total amount of used licenses was inaccurate.

We added clear description and instructions on how Phishing Simulation Tools can be utilised without causing any conflicts in Element Collaboration Protection.

Under the Policy section in Elements Collaboration protection we added a specific policy item, "Phishing Simulation Tools".

At the end of the policy there will be a link to the existing section: Policies/Exchange/Trusted email sender addresses

This existing feature can be used for allowing the Phishing Simulation Tool to work properly.

Elements Collaboration Protection will mark mailboxes that have lost the connection to Microsoft as TemporaryFailure. The mailboxes should recover by itself in a short period of time. Admins can turn on notifications in this kind of events in policy settings.

We’re excited to introduce a new feature that allows you to customise notifications for disallowed file types.

How to Configure the Disallowed File Types:

Navigate to the Policies view and select the Exchange tab.
Click Malware Scanning.
Under the Disallowed file types section, click "Configure file types" to start specifying which file types are not allowed.

4. Select the desired file types to block and click Save.

How to Customise Notifications:

In the Policies view, go to the Exchange tab.
Select Notifications.
Under Notifications for Disallowed Content, you can customise the templates for both users and admins.

4. After making changes, click Save.

Important Notes:

Make sure the policy is assigned to the cloud connection for it to take effect.
To ensure admins receive notifications, the Admins Notification feature must be enabled.

Updated MFA detection methods for compromised accounts, existing customers would need to re-authenticate Exchange in order to have the MFA status working (old way of MFA detection was deprecated by Microsoft and therefore this update is needed). A banner will appear for customers who need to re-authenticate.

No more unprotected mailboxes due to license outage

A better overview of available licenses, their usage, and outages across cloud services. The redesigned subscriptions view on the Cloud Services page brings transparency to which assets are unprotected due to license outages.

Furthermore, the feature notifies security administrators if the mailbox count exceeds the total number of licenses on Dashboard and Cloud Services pages. This helps to ensure that the organization remains compliant with licensing requirements.

New detection details view

The Detection details view has been renewed to better serve the security admins’ needs and support their day-to-day workflow.

The page has been completely redesigned to support the Elements’ consistency in design and functionality. For example, now a security admin can navigate between pre-filtered detections without the need to return to the Detections view.

However, the update is more than a facelift. The response actions have been introduced to that view to eliminate the unnecessary navigation between the Quarantine and Detection details views. The additional information and cross-linking are aimed to support the decision-making process.

Blocking file types

The policy settings were expanded to allow to block the certain file types. Administrators could select file type to be disallowed within the protected ecosystem, from a curated by security experts list. The system will handled all files of the selected file types as harmful and take action according to a tool specific policy settings. The feature does not rely on the file extension, but leverage the intelligent file type recognition.

Automatic protection for new Teams channels
- The “Automatically protect newly-added assets” setting for SharePoint tool is now covering onboarding of the newly-added Teams channels. If this setting is turned off, you need to manually select the asset that need to be protected. Note, that after the new release the existing Teams channels would not be protected automatically only newly-added.

The reports are now available in multiple languages.

The scheduled report offers the expanded language selection: English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Swedish, Polish, Spanish, Portuguese and Traditional Chinese (Taiwan). Administrators could generated report in preferred language, but also edit language settings for already scheduled reports. The language defined in user settings is set as a default for report localization. This feature ensures the convinient report format aligned with the language preferences of target audience.

The onboarding logic for the newly-added mailboxes was revisited to meet users expectations and needs.

Previously, when the “Automatically protect newly-added mailboxes” option was turned on, newly-added mailboxes were automatically protected. If there were not enough licenses, the protection was removed from older mailboxes (following an alphabetical order).

In this release, the newly-added mailboxes are automatically protected only if there are enough available licenses.

With this release, we have deployed a common scope selector. It is used across the entire Elements system showing to the logged-in administrator all available organizations. Administrators can now navigate within Elements without losing the selected scope.
