How to exclude file type
Hi,
Using PMC 9 + Antivirus for servers 9.00 (+ 3 hotfixes), but have problems with F-secure scanning before/during FTP transfer so the files arrive as 0-byte files at the destination host.
I would like to try to exclude the file type *.~* (example: *.~temp) from a folder, including 4-5 subfolders. Please advice on can I exclude the extension, by using "?" somehow?
Tried by adding this path to excluded objects: *\\HARDDISKVOLUME*\\*\\Folder
Should this not exclude the whole folder + subfolders from scanning altogether?
F-secure still seems to scan files in the folder/subfolders disturbing the transfer, anyone has other suggestions?
Thanks and regards,
JC

Hello J-C,
You can exclude either a file type, or an object (subfolder or file). It's not possible to exclude a specific file type in a specific folder.
To exclude files with "~temp" extension add it to excluded extensions as is (without quotation marks) - ~temp.
You can also use * and ? symbols, for example ~t??? or ~te*.
Examples of excluded objects:
\Apps - excludes the specified path
mydoc. - excludes all files mydoc.*
\\archive - excludes all paths which contain specified subfolder

Hello,

Not worth investigating that problem as is! Better upgrade to FSPM 10.01 and then FSAV ESS 9.20 (no hotfixes currently). FSAV 9.00 is extremely ancient and the level of modern security is not there without DeepGuard tech.
Also, you FTP problem will likely go away with the newer, higher performance FSAV product.
Bye!
