File deleted without a trace
Hi,
I am running FSCS 9.01 on a cash register PC and one file (file.db) keeps getting deleted. This is somekind of database file and it´s content is updated often and sometime it is completely replaced by a new version with the same name.
When either of these things happens, it gets deleted. Same file also exists on many other similar machines but the file is not deleted?
Can someone please explain how this file can be deleted and what module of F-secure is doing it and why?
A little annoying because nowhere in any logs on the server or client does it say that the file actually has been deleted.
Thanks and regards,
JC

Hello J-C,
You can check Windows Application Event log to find out if any files were deleted by FSCS. Every time when a file is deleted/quarantined (by Real Time or Manual scanning), Error with source "F-Secure Anti-Virus" is added to Windows Application Event log. In event details you can find information about file name, infection and taken action (for Real Time scanning event).
If you are sure that this file is deleted by FSCS by mistake, you can exclude it from scan.
BTW, the product you are using is pretty old. Please, consider upgrading to latest version 9.32.
Best regards,
Vad
