Disk is full after Server Security installation

Hi,

Yesterday I installed Server Security on a Windows 2003 server. This is also running an old PMS 7.20 which I am currently phasing out, moving clients to a new server whenever possible for the customers.

After installing I get error messages from monitoring team that the disk C: is full. When checking this, I see that the folder called fsaus.pm has increased in size taking up about 5 GB of space.

Why did it do this when server security installed is updating from another PMS running version 9.00?

If I uninstall server security and install it to disk, would it solve the problem?

I also read in another post that one could copy the db folders to a different partition/disk and "link" the new location to the folders, how can I do this?

Hi,

Thanks to both of you for your answers. That was what I found so strange, why should the old PMS start to download lots of updates, increasing the size of the fsaus.pm folder several GB, after installing the new Server Security for the server itself?

Anyway don´t waste time on this "issue", I have disabled automatic updates in SS and now the problem is temp. solved until I can retire this machine.

The disk space issue from the fsaus.pm folder is not related to the Server Security, instead it is related to the Policy Manager Server virus definitions updates.

It seems like you have an abandon PMS 7.20, if you are not using it we would advise you to remove it from the server.

PMS 7.20 is way out of support(soon 3 years) and the fact that it is running with SS9.20 is definnitley a set up that hasn't been tested.

I would get ride of the PMS 7.20 before any further investigation that should free up some space on the installation drive.

In addition the support for PM 9 is also coming to an end in a near futur(30/11/2012).

I would therefore advice you to upgrade to PM10 ASAP to avoid dragging unsupported version in the network that can cause all sort of issues.
