PM10 - smtp alert forwarding
I've configured the smtp alert forwarding in PM to send alerts to our internal exchange 2010 server.
Because the alert forwarding using anonymous smtp I set up relaying for the PM server's ip address in exchange 2010.
Unfortunatelly it seems that the clients trying to send the smtp alerts directly to the smtp server and not via the PM server, that means I need to allow relaying to the whole local network. Obviously I don't want to do this.
How can we set up alerting that alerts delivered to the PM server first and then forwarded by the PM server as an smtp alert?

Hi,
it is planned to send alerts from PMS if they reach a certain "intensitiy" or level, but SMTP alerting has always been done by the Client. This way clients will also be able to send an alert if they are "in the wild wild world".
I highly recommend NOT to use this feature except for some selected systems. In case there is a false positive your clients will start to flood alerts to the smtp server as well as to the PMS. We have had customers generating an alert every 10 Sec, because a service was updated with a bogus patch!
If you stil want this install a simplle mail forwarder additionally on the PMS there are many around!
