Wireless Printer vs. Firewall

Hi,

I tried to install a Brother wireless printer. I disabled the firewall and installed it, then turned the firewall back on and it won't print. Turn it off, it prints. I am not a techie and would like to know the steps to create an exception in F-secure firewall for the printer. This machine is still running Windows XP.

 

I would be very grateful for help.

You could try this:

 

First open F-secure - press the button Settings.
In the new window press network connections and the Firewall
Then a page will be visable that have rules and a option to add.
Select name ( Can be anything)
Then select Custom and press edit and select Mynetwork in the bar. Then press add to list and ok.
 
Next step is to add services and there you should add:
-WIndows Network browsing and
-Windows file sharing and network printers.
 Then press the question mark
so it changes to an arrow that goes at both directions. Then press next and complete the guide.
