Policy Manager Proxy on Windows 7
Hi everyone,
We are lookign for a replacement for SEP and F-Secure with Policy Manager Console looks like it would fit the bill. One thing I'm concerned about though is that we have a lot of branch sites, which we would be installing the Manager Console Proxy on to distribute updates.
We do have a lot of even smaller sites that don't have a server, they have some local file shares usually on a Windows 7 PC. The requirements for Manager Console Proxy only list Windows Server OS's, is this a hard requirement or a recommendation? Is it possible to install the Proxy on a Windows 7 machine.
Follow up question, is there other ways to distribute the updates to these satellite sites while conserving bandwidth?
Thanks in advance!

Hello Mhouston100,
Requirements provided in the documentation should indeed be followed. Therefore if you wish to implement a Policy Manager Proxy, a "server OS" is needed.
To try helping you with your bandwidth issue however you might want to take the neighborcast in use.
Please refer to the following article for more information about that option.

Thank you.
