    Hello edwardtus1970,

You should be able to do the migration upgrade mentioned.
First back up the data from you PM9 linux as followed:

    -Proceed to stop fspms service
    /etc/init.d/fspms stop

-Take a copy of the folder
    /var/opt/f-secure/fspms/commdir

-And a copy of the admin key pair
    /opt/f-secure/fspmc/admin.pub
    &
    /opt/f-secure/fspmc/admin.prv

    -Then restart the service fspms
    /etc/init.d/fspms start

After installing PM 10 on windows server you can launch the migration wizard to import the settings.
    <F-Secure>\Management Server 5\bin\fspms-migration-wizard.exe

Provide the recently copied files and folder when prompt.

To answer your last question , in the PM10 and later, all the data including policy domain structure, policies, installation packages and so on are stored in H2 database. In order to backup the data on Windows installation, please proceed with the following steps:

    -Stop the Policy Manager Server
-Backup the folder [F-Secure Installation Dir]\Management Server 5\data\h2db
    -Start the Policy Manager Server

To restore the data, do the following:

    -Stop the Policy Manager Server
-Restore the previously backed up folder contents into [F-Secure Installation Dir]\Management Server 5\data\h2db
    -Start the Policy Manager Server

Finally take note of the additional steps needed to provide the reference of the new Server to the managed clients(Mikko's post "Now here's the tricky part:").

    Thank you

    hi,

I think about trying this migration here.

I just installed FSPM 11 onto a new server in order to use this. There is an FSPM 10 on a Linux machine whic is in use currently.

Unfortunately in the FSPM 11 installation I cannot find the mentioned migration tool anymore. Looks like F-Secure have decided to take it away with FSPM 11 Smiley Sad

Is there any way to migrate at least the settings?

    Greets

    Hi sw2090,

The H2DB format is the same for Linux and Windows, hence you may stop the FSPMS service on Linux server (cmd: /etc/init.d/fspms stop) and collect the h2db from the directory: opt/f-secure/fspms/data/h2db and replace it on your Windows PM (after the PM Server service has been stopped).

    Regards,

    Gary
