Migrate from policy manager 10 to policy manager 11
Hi
We have tried to upgrade a policy manager 10.20 to version 11.20 but , after the installation process, we cannot connect with new policy server 11.20 becase it gives error 503 , service unavailbale.
Now we hare restored versione 10.20 ( we did a snapshot before upgrade procedure ) and it works.
It seems that h2db is corrupted so now we need to create a new policy manager server 11 and migrate client ( about 1000 windows clients ) into this new installation.
What is the best procedure to do it ?
We are preparing a new server windows 2003 and then we will install policy console 11.20.
Thank you

Hello giorgiocol78,
Try to upgrade following these steps.
1. First, create a full backup of Policy Manager data from the current working version 10.20.To backup the H2 Database in PM.
- Stop the Policy Manager Server service.- Backup the folder [F-Secure Installation Dir]\Management Server 5\data\h2db.
- Start the Policy Manager Server.2. Run F-Secure Policy Manager setup on a computer where Policy Manager components are installed.3. Policy Manager setup will suggest upgrading those components that are installed on the computer. You may proceed with the options selected by default to upgrade the installed components keeping the existing configuration
If you receive the same error try to restore the H2 Database backup.- Stop the Policy Manager Server service.
- Restore the backup folder content to [F-Secure Installation Dir]\Management Server 5\data\h2db.
- Start the Policy Manager Server. If it fails again please contact us via http://www.f-secure.com/en/web/business_global/support/contact/request in order to open a case with us as the process to migrate clients to another Policy Manager is more delicate.
Thanks.
Best Regards,
