Self-offload supported?

Hello,

Let's consider the following scenario:

ESXi 5.50 server with 6GB RAM

1 x Linux VM (that runs FSAV SRS-SVCE 11.00 appliance)

1 x Win 2008R2 VM (runs FSPM 11.22)

Is it supported to install "FSAV File Server Security 11.01" on the Win2008R2 VM, in such a mode that it uses the Offline Scanning Agent option to off-load the antivirus burden to the SVCE appliance?

Thanks in advance, Yours Sincerely: Tamas Feher, 2F 2000, Hungary.

There shouldn't be any problem installing SS11.01 with Offload Scanning Agent (OSA) on a Policy Manager host machine. Do you have actual issues with an installation?

As for self-offload, it would be on the same ESX server but not on the same VM.

Note that you will get the best benefit of the scanning offload with higher number of virtual machine.

    Hello Ben,

    > Do you have actual issues with an installation?

The little blue FSAV tray icon retains the flashing orange exclamation mark (warning about outdated database) for more time than usual. It takes 15-25 minutes to disappear and re-appears after rebooting the Win 2008 server.

    Hi Tamas,

In order to figure out what is going on in this use case, could you open a ticket? Please provide an fsdiag including logs from the AUA debug on level 9 taken when the issue appears?

    Dear Ben,

How do you do this Level 9 debug log?

Thanks in advance, Yours Sincerely: Tamas Feher, Hungary.
