Installing Linux Security 9.11 on 64-bit Ubuntu 11.10 with kernel 3

Is it possible to install Linux Security on a computer with kernel 3? I managed to run the installation, but the kernel modifications were not successful, so realtime protection was not available.

I ran "sudo apt-get install rpm libc6-dev patch linux-libc-dev make gcc" and the ia32-libs is up-to-date.

The Linux Security admin guide (which was rather hard to find using the usual support-links, btw) does not mention Ubuntu 11.10 or the new kernel version 3. Can you confirm the necessary steps for installation?

    Hi,

AFAIK Ubuntu will only be supported in LTS-versions 10.04. and certainly only for those that were available during beta-testing already.

OK, that answers that question. I need to find an alternative AV package for my customer migrating from Windows to Linux.

Next thing is to work out how to uninstall, everything is on OK (I think) bar the kernel modules which won't compile (Ubuntu 11.10 32bit, although the customer machine is 64bit).
