Centrally managed seppuku in F-Secure?
Hello,
I had a strange experience this afternoon:
Installed FSCS 11.60 (standard) on a laptop and experienced compability problems with an in-house developed network appliaction. Probably something about the firewall or NIIF, but it wasn't easy to pinpoint.
Thus, I thought about trying the firewall-less F-Secure version, to see if it works:
- Ordered FSCS 11.60 remote uninstallation task from FSPM 11.22 and verified it happened
- After reboot, installed FSAVWKS 11.60. It started to download signature updates from FSPM and after a while, a little pop-up box appeared in the upper left screen corner, saying F-Secure software update is in progress. Within a minute, FSAV WKS completely uninstalled itself!
Question: why is FSPM uninstalling FSAVWKS 11.60 from the endpoint, when the remote uninstall instruction was issued for FSAVCS 11.60? They are different products.
Best Regards: Tamas Feher, Hungary.

Hello Tamas,
You are right, this is not a correct behaviour. We'll fix this issue in the next version.
The workaround is to delete the host from policy domain tree after uninstallation.
Best regards,
