Hello Miro,
In order to migrate between two servers, please refer to Siltanen's post in this thread.
This method should not bring any down time.
The fact that you want to migrate the data between Windows and Linux PM, shouldn't be much more complicated because to move PM from one machine to another you just need to copy the H2 database. Using on both the latest Policy Manager version is advisable.
The database files are located in [F-Secure Installation Dir]\Management Server 5\data\h2db on Windows and in /var/opt/f-secure/fspms/data/h2db in Linux.Note that all copying must be performed when PMS is stopped (on both Windows and Linux) .
Also make sure the h2db directory and files have the correct user permissions on Linux after copying (directory=755, files=644). The h2db folder and files should have ownership set to "fspms.fspms":
# chown -R fspms.fspms /var/opt/f-secure/fspms/data/h2db6 -
Hello,
Please note that you will NOT be able to use F-Secure "Premium" endpoint products (with built-in Software Updater module) after migrating to Linux-based FSPM 10.43. Those features are exclusive to FSPM 11.22 on Windows Server.
Even if you really need to migrate FSPMS to Linux, maybe keep FSPMC on a Windows workstation. The Linux version of PMC lacks .MSI package format compatibility and push install support and the option to import computer tree from Active Directory.
You should also make sure that FSPM supports the very precise distro and version of your Linux box. F-Secure support policy is strict in this regard.
Yours Sincerely: Tamas Feher, 2F 2000, Hungary.
