Locked in stand-alone mode without reason with FSAV ESS 11.01?

standalone_not_changeable.pngHello,

If one installs FSAV (E)SS 11.01 in standalone mode, the "General / Administration / Management Mode - Communication method" value is greyed out in the WebUI as "Stand-Alone" and it cannot be changed to "F‑Secure Policy Manager Server".

It is not good and it did not use to be this way! It should be possible to change the crypto keyfile in

"c:\Program Files (x86)\F-Secure\Common\admin.pub" from zero size to a known good one and then click the "F‑Secure Policy Manager Server" radio button in the WebUI to change to centralized management. It has always been that way and in fact it still works that way in FSAVCS!

Don't tell me to re-install, because:

A. Installation events are big things for a corporate server computer, often requiring written permission to reboot and only at specific times, like late night. Changing a simple setting and restarting fsma+fsgkhs does not carry the same stigma.

B. In case of re-installation it becomes impossible to try the FSPM 11.30 beta with centrally managed FSAV Server Security 11.01 on the same computer, because readme warns specifically that PM 11.30 must installed last (not first, corrected), due to updated components that PM 11.30 carries.

Anyhow, is there a registry key I could use to change the management mode in ESS 11.01?

Thanks for your attention, Best Regards:

Tamas Feher, Hungary.
