Virus and Sparware Scanning and Scheduled Scanning Malfunction

Hi,

 

I'm running f-secure 9.32 build 112 in windows 8.1.  It has been fine for 6-8 months.  Then it says "Virus and Sparware Scanning Malfunction" and "Scheduled Scanning Malfunction" in its status and suggests that I restart the computer to resolve.  I have done this over and over but the message won't go away.  I've submitted a support request with a fsdiag attached but have not heard anything.  SR ID 1-XXXXXXXXX.

 

Is anyone able to help?

 

(I am trying to find solutions which do not require a re-install)

F-Secure 9.32 is ancient and never supported Win8.1 officially. On the other hand, newer F-Secure corporate market products (starting with FSAV 10.00 and FSAVCS 11.60 currently) do not support standalone mode installation and use, but require centralized control (Policy Manager). Your best bet is probably installing "F-Secure Internet Security 2015" on that Win 8.1 computer for a modern protection.

 

However, it apppears the late November 7xx megabytes large Microsoft update (KB 3000850) for the "Windows 8.1 with Update" system is incompatible with F-Secure and Avast protections and you may wish to avoid installing that update, before things are sorted out.
