Windows 10 incompatible with installation package

An organization I'm affiliated with provided an installation package to allow a free subscriptino for F-Secure client security premium (11, 11.601 if the filename is accurate). After upgrading to 10 and doing a clean install, any attempt to reinstall F-Secure with said package will result in a BSOD. Either during the installation, or if it manages to complete, the computer will force restart on the first click event I make. I resolved the restart issue by starting Windows in safe mode, and removing the F-Secure installation.

My problem is that I can't obtain an installation resource with a more up-to-date version, because the policy management address for our organisation is is an http address, instead of a https one, which the policy manager tool requires to accept an URL as valid. The organization provided installation package had policy management baked in, and was able to call to an non-https address.

Are there any steps I can take or am I dependant on the organization providing a Windows 10 compatiable version with their package?

Hi jokikinen, I've moved your post to the Business Security section since you are experiencing an issue with Client Security. Maybe the experts here can help you.

    Hello jokikinen,

Please, use Client Security version 12.00. Older versions utilisation leads to BSOD.

And yes, seems that you are dependant on the organization which provides you the soft.

    Best regards,

    Hello,

I have been informed by F-Secure staff Peter F. that Windows 10 Enterprise and Educational versions neeed to have the "Device Guard" module turned off and disabled before "F-Secure Client Security 12" protection can be installed on them. Otherwise non-functional HIPS protection or even BSOD problem may occur. He said there will be a fix published for this issue.

More info about Microsoft Device Guard: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn986865%28v=vs.85%29.aspx

Yours Sincerely: Tamas Feher, 2F 2000 Kft., Hungary.
