Internet Gatekeeper Virtual Appliance Console Login

Hi,

 

we are evaluating the above product. While console-based setup worked flawlessly, we are struggeling to get access as 'root' to edit files. Admin/passwort we set during initial setup just brings the 3 MenuChoices 'Network','Exit','change-pass'. Basically i believe the root-paaswor is not mentioned in the doku. It is definately not the one we entered for Admin

    We do not provide the root account for the virtual appliance version of Internet Gatekeeper(IGK) as it is a interface base version. 

    Deploying the default IGK version(rather than the virtual appliance) might be the solution for you.

     

    What is the use case for which you need to edit files? Which files you would need to edit?

    Hi Ben,

    well, since we just started the evaluiation we actually do not know what settings we'd like to tweak. There are many of those in the Admin-Guide, which, as a result of your information, do not apply to the VA. This could have been metioned somewhere :-(

    So there is no way to change the Conf-Files on a VA. Have to think what that means to us.
