I have a client computer install F-Secure Client Security 11.51 Premium.

We found this folder is over 120GB space.

C:\ProgramData\F-Secure\FSAUA\content\aquawin32

It seem F-Secure does not delete old virus definitions after updated.

How do I to prevent this issue ? Thank you!

You sound a bit autistic. Everybody told you to run the "fs-aua-reset" utility to clean up and when the operation has normalized, quickly upgrade to the newer product version 12.00.

New product versions are released exactly because bugs from older version are fixed. Your problems are not going away by throwing a tantrum.

Even I opened support ticket and attached fsdiag.tar .but I still got the same answer (using FSAUA-RESET utitily)

I hope you fix the root cause of a problem instead of merely treating the symptom.

You are looking for trouble. Even if F-Secure debugs your ancient FSVACS 11.5 version, you still won't have any protection against ransomware. Soon, you may come back to complain that all of your files have gone unreadable, due to encryption. You have no idea how widespread cryptor malware are and how many victims are out there. It is time to upgrade to the modern version 12 of F-Secure for better protection and stop finding excuses!

The EOL for Client security 11 has indeed been postponed recently.

In order to investigate these issues further, could you please open a support ticket including an fsdiag.

According F-secure official document. version 11.51 EOS date is "2017/10/2" NOT TODAY.

therefore I think F-secure need to let us know WHY and how to PREVENT this issue.

I hope F-Secure can found root cause of issue or guarantee this issue will not happen new version.

Upgrading from 11.51 is not a consideration, it is mandatory, because of EOL. No support and no guarantee to receive daily AV updates any more. If you remain on 11.51, you are on your own.

Very soon a new version of F-Secure Policy Manager 12.10 and Client Security 12.10 will arrive, with support for a new kind of real-time centralized management protocol, in addition to the traditional polled method.

But if you don't like major version 12 yet, you need to upgrade the computers' antivirus to F-Secure version 11.61 at least. There is nothing to negotiate about 11.51 any more.

Actually I know fsaua-reset or re-install F-secure can resolve this problem.

But I wanna know WHY ? and how to prevent this issue.

If it is 11.51 bug and no hotfix I will consider upgrade to version 12.

But I need to confirm this issue WILL NOT HAPPEN on version 12.

Our company deploy about 534 machine (467 using v11.51 & 67 using v12)

At least 3 machine have this issue as far as I know.

You could try to run both fsaua-reset.exe (ftp://ftp.f-secure.com/support/tools/FSAUA-Reset/ ) and fsdbupdate9.
How many machines are affected by this problem at your client?

Actually I have F-Secure v12 but this client is still using 11.51.

That is an obsolated product version, which is no longer supported.

Please use F-Secure version 12.00 (or 11.61 if you are still using the Windows XP system).
