Why isn't there an upgrade option for AV for Workstations 11 to Client Security 12 in the Policy Man

I was doing some testing of what's involved with upgrading AV for Workstations 11.61 to Client Security 12. I was surprised to find that there's no upgrade installation in the Policy Manager to make this change, which was confirmed by F-Secure Tech support. I would have though that with the requirement that customers migrate off 11.x due to end-of-life for support, there would be an easier upgrade process to move to a new product. For those who have migrated, what methods have you done to do that? We have hundreds of clients that need to be upgraded.

    Hello,

     

    They are different F-Secure products, so a mere version upgrade in not possible, as that is a technology for upgrade within the same product line.

     

    I think you need to use the push install method (or the .JAR -> .MSI export and GPO method) to distribute FSAVCS 12 onto computers still running FSAVWKS 11.
