PMS12.10 - Missing the Secondary Update Source

Hi,

I updated the PMS 12.00 to 12.10 and realize dont have more the Update Source (Secondary Update Source).

I need to block the secondary update source, because the customer have a really bad link, so he need block any antivirus update from internet, so he will "lock" the endpoint to get the updates from PMS.

As you can see in the two images, the PMS12.00 still have the primary and secondary update source and in the PMS 12.10 this option was removed.

Have anyway to block the secondary update source?

Hello,

the settings you are referring to have been deprecated in Policy Manager 12.10 and Client Security 12.10.

For your problem, to restrict client getting updates from PMS only, you should use a setting

'F-Secure Automatic Update Agent\Allow fetching updates from F-Secure Update Server'. Setting it to 'No' will prevent the clients from trying to fetch the anti-virus db updates from the Internet.

If the signatures databases download sharing method of "Neighborcast" is enabled, then the data traffic amount will be very minimal, even if the computers connect directly to the public net, rather than the PMS server.

As you can see in the image, the option of update source still removed.

I realized if you select a machine where using the old version (befofe 12.10), the Policy Manager show this option. So the option of the update source is disabled AFTER CS 12.10, if you still using CS 12.00 the Policy Manager will show this option.

Hi,

You are looking on an empty policy domain group. Add F-secure client to it and check again.
