BranchCache settings on F-Secure firewall

Hi,

We are implementing F-Secure Client Security to our workstations. In our tests we noticed that F-Secure firewall blocks BranchCache from working. Microsoft has a TechNet article about the needed settings (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd837649(v=ws.10).aspx), but I am  unsure how to configure them in policy manager. Can someone help me with configuring the correct firewall services and firewall rules to get BranchCache working again?

    Hello,

I would hazard a guess that BranchCache, like other advanced Microsoft technologies e.g. DirectAccess, only works if you keep the Windows built-in Microsoft firewall enabled.

( By default, FSAVCS's Internet Shield disables the Windows firewall during installation time, but it can be re-enabled using F-Secure Policy Manager, so the two work in "tandem". Please note there may be a few percent of network performance penalty in such a scenario.)

    Best Regards: Tamas Feher, Hungary.

We already set our installation package to leave Windows Firewall on because of our IPSec rules on it.
