High CPU Usage - fshoster64.exe - Using a Java-Application

Hello,

we have a java application, when we start the app fshoster64.exe creates a high cpu usage.

How can we stop this?

A exclusion rule in Policy Manager already created.

App: \\server\app$\jre\64\bin\javaw.exe

Hi,

while I agree that disabling OAS and trying process exclusion is the correct access to tracking the problem down, I deeply disagree to implement process exclusion as a solution.

JAVA is a dangerous tool and Oracle even check if you have lately used it and recoomends to uninstall if not. Adding Process Exclusion will allow ANY Java based attack to persue with any interference from F-Secure.

If JAVA goes up to 100% caused by F-Secure this is a BUG. Neither JAVA.EXE nor the applications should cause any continious high CPU usage.

Adding the source folders to exclusions will help to speed up compliations, but should also not cause 100% CPU on FShoster.

So again: does the problem still exist?

Is there a different thread regarding your Firewall issue ? If no, I suggest to create a new thread to keep both issues separate.

Firstly, disable Real-time scanning to verify if the situation improves.

Best thing for Java is to add it to "excluded processes" - that excludes everything what this process does from scanning.

Adding source folders to exclusions also helped speeds up java builds significantly. So, we recommend to add sources folder to global exclusions - that solves almost all developer problems.

Hi,
can you confirm that your Deepgard Update ends on 2019-07-09_06 at least?
And does the problem still exist?

As a rule of thumb:
F-Secure does not require any exclusions for any environment!
If a problem exists and disapears only after an exclusion it should be handled as a bug resulting in a support case.
Exclusions are for debugging and temporary workarounds only.
