As previously announced, support for full-network VPN is coming to an end on 25th April 2024 and some of our users are still using older versions of the Mobile Protection clients.
Please read the whole article as it contains some information that could affect your users.
These older clients, especially those with VPN turned on, will not function correctly once the VPN service is terminated, and may even be blocked from using the network. For this reason, we’ve created a new profile “WithSecure™ mobile (VPN disabled)", available to everyone, which can be applied to all legacy devices (using Mobile Protection version 23.x or older). This profile has the VPN functionality turned off by default.
Alternatively, if the customer requires more advanced customization of their profile, we strongly recommend that they update their clients to version 24.x as a matter of urgency.
If a client update is not possible at this time:
EITHER
- modify existing profiles for earlier clients to turn off VPN and possibly also Lock the setting to prevent the end user turning it back on.
OR
- Assign the “WithSecure™ mobile (VPN disabled)” profile to the clients
On 23rd April 2024, WithSecure will apply this profile AUTOMATICALLY to all endpoint devices that are running the older version of the client software AND have VPN enabled in profile, to ensure they can continue to access the network. Please note that we are unable to store the details of the older profile, so partners and customers will need to manually apply the correct profile once the client is updated to 24.x
