Prevent removing Firefox extensions with GPO
This GPO setting prevents removing the older F-secure version of extension.
Go to Computer
Configuration/Policies/Administrative
Templates/Mozilla/Firefox/Extensions/Prevent extensions from being
disabled or removed and edit the policy as follows:
- Select Enabled to turn the policy on.
- Under Options, select Show... and enter the following value: ols@f-secure.com.

To prevent removing the WithSecure Browser Protection extension in Firefox using GPO, you can follow these steps:
- Download the Firefox policy templates from this link here or here and unzip the file.
- Copy the
firefox.adm
file to theC:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions
folder. - Open the Group Policy Editor by typing
gpedit.msc
in the Run dialog box. - Navigate to
Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Mozilla > Firefox > Extensions
. - Double-click on the
Prevent extensions from being disabled or removed
policy and set it toEnabled
. - Click on the
Show
button and enter the extension ID of the WithSecure Browser Protection extension, which isols@withsecure.com
. - Click on
OK
and close the Group Policy Editor. - Restart Firefox to apply the changes.
NOTE: Please ensure that you use in Client Security/Server Security 16.00 and https://download.sp.f-secure.com/online-safety/fs_firefox_https.xpi in Client Security/Server Security 15.x or Elements EPP for Computers/Servers.
Also, you should use the new extension ID for Mozilla Firefox, ols_main@withsecure.com in Client Security/Server Security 16.00.https://download.withsecure.com/online-safety/ws_firefox_https.xpi
