Question about Collaboration Protection licensing
Hi,
I would like to ask a question about WithSecure Elements Collaboration Protection licensing. A company has 15 licenses of WithSecure Elements Collaboration Protection and all are in use at the moment. Automatically protect newly-added mailboxes is turned on and we create a new user with a new mailbox. What happens if there are no available licenses? Is one license then unassigned from a user and assigned to the new user that hade been created? At least that is what happened at one of our customers.

Hi @Hmmm
Thank you for reaching the WithSecure Community,
As per the Elements Collaboration Protection Changelog, the updated subscription's view on the Cloud Services page enhances transparency by highlighting which assets remain unprotected due to license outages. Additionally, this feature alerts security administrators if the mailbox count surpasses the total number of licenses on both the Dashboard and Cloud Services pages.
In practical terms, if you have 15 licenses for WithSecure Elements Collaboration Protection and they are all allocated, creating a new user with a mailbox will not automatically enroll them in the service. Instead, you will receive a warning message on the Dashboard and Cloud Services pages, signaling an excess of mailboxes compared to licenses. To address this, you will need to acquire additional licenses or manually reassign a license from an existing user to the new user.
For more information, you can also visit the Elements Collaboration Protection Userguide page.
Best regards,
Sethu
