Hi. I got a warning from Witsecure about the binary: wsadmind. It is located under Withsecure directory so I believe it is not malicious but now i am curious what it does. When I run it with no arguments i get the following output:

Doorman endpoint set to 2
Doorman region set to 0
Doorman endpoint set to 2

Can someone please explain what does this binary do and what a doorman is.

Thanks.

    Hi @mk14

Thank you for reaching out to the WithSecure community. The wsadmind component is part of WithSecure Elements/Client Security/MDR agent for macOS and is not a malicious component.

In the context of WithSecure, the term “doorman” refers to a backend service essential for the functionality of our security products. It manages network addresses and ensures that WithSecure products can connect to the necessary servers for updates and security cloud functionality.
