Notification on licnese pool

Hi! We have a M365 Intune procedure set up so that when a customer end user logs in to their new computer for the first time with their account, WithSecure is downloaded to the device automatically.

Is there a way to get notified by email when the customers free license pool is about to run out / has run out, so we can be sure there are free licenses for the new users / devices?

Thank you for reaching out to the WithSecure Community page, there’s no automatic email alert when your license pool runs out of seats. Monitoring is mainly manual or based on time-based expiry warnings.

How to Monitor Licenses:

Elements Security Center (ESC):
- Check the Subscription view for license usage and status.
- Partners can see accounts that are expired or expiring within 7–30 days.
Time-Based Monitoring:
- Use LicenseStatus via WMI or ESC filters to view licenses expiring soon (e.g., in 14 or 60 days).

If You Run Out of Seats:

New devices won’t be added or protected.
They won’t appear in ESC.

Tip: Keep some headroom in your license pool to avoid protection gaps.

Email Notifications (General):
While “seat count exhausted” alerts aren’t available, you can still:

Schedule email reports (status, protection, updates).
Configure admin alerts for security issues.
Notify users when licenses near expiration.

thank you for the reply and information!

Such a functionality would be useful.

We have many customers to whom we supervise the on boarding of new users and their devices. As the end users arent always aware of the license situation, manually checking and then ordering new licenses creates an extra hassle that could be avoided with a triggered or a timed report.

But alas, manual bookkeeping procedure will suffice for now.
