Background
Several Collaboration Protection customers have received messages from Microsoft relating to their use of WithSecure Elements Collaboration Protection.
The message from Microsoft is legitimate, but appears to be automatically generated for any M365 tenant who has any application using Exchange Web Services (EWS). It is not specific to WithSecure Elements Collaboration Protection.
The messaging is particularly important for organizations who create their own EWS applications and are not aware of the schedule being followed by Microsoft.
How is WithSecure Elements Collaboration affected?
WithSecure Elements Collaboration Protection currently uses EWS, and will be affected by the change being made by Microsoft.
We are fully aware of Microsoft's schedule for phasing out the EWS functionality that is used by Collaboration Protection, and we are already working on the replacement version which will be compliant with Microsoft's technology changes.
While we cannot confirm an exact schedule for the release of the new version, we will ensure that it is in good time before the Microsoft cut-off date, which is October 1st, 2026.
We will provide more information on the schedule, and any other relevant information, as it becomes available.
