I would like for the WithSecure team to change the way users are reminded to activate their browser security extensions. I believe the current process is too confusing for the average user to actually do it. This would lead to many tickets to IT, asking to stop the reminders…
Picture this:
When activating the "Remind user to activate browser extensions" under browser extensions a reminder is sent to the user in windows notifications.
1.
This notification in Windows 11 is folded by default and therefore does not show the "Configure" button, leaving users with no option to actually configure the protection, clicking the notification itself does not do anything but remove the notification.
_
2.
Say a user actually folds out this notification. They are taken to the WithSecure Settings "Secure Browsing" window where they are shown many unrelated options with a lock placed on them.(Following WithSecure Best Practice for setting the Security Profile)
This would once again leave user confused as they dont know what to click.
Scrolling down to the bottom of this page shows the "Browser extensions" section where users can enable the protection by clicking the Edge/Chrome/Firefox links.
From here i believe the process is pretty simple.
Hope there can be a simpler way that leads the user in what to do.
