Browser Extension issues warning of not being active, despite being active

As the title says:

We're using the Browser Extension and enforce it via Policy Manager.
Despite being activated in the used browsers (Edge, Chrome, Firefox), we get the warning notification (which is set via policy).
Anyone got an idea, where the problem could have it's source?

    Hi @Kay

Thank you for reaching out the WithSecure Community,

In your situation, when the "Remind user to activate browser plugins" option is enabled in the profile settings, it should only remind the user if the extension is not installed.

However, please check if the user has multiple profiles, especially in Google Chrome. If the browser is not company-managed and the extension is enforced by policy, extensions typically follow the user's profile.

If the user switches to a different profile/account in the browser, the Browsing Protection extension might not be installed in that profile, which would trigger the reminder.

If you have done the above checklist but the issue still remains unresolve, here are a few potential sources and troubleshooting steps:

Policy Conflicts: Ensure there are no conflicting policies that might be causing the issue. Sometimes, policies set in different places (e.g., Group Policy Editor vs. Policy Manager) can conflict with each other.

Extension Permissions: Check if the extension permissions are correctly configured. If certain permissions are blocked, the extension might not function as expected, leading to warning notifications.

Policy Application: Verify that the policies are correctly applied to all browsers. Sometimes, policies might not propagate correctly, especially if there are network issues or if the policy update hasn't been applied yet.

Browser-Specific Issues: Since the issue occurs across multiple browsers, ensure that each browser's settings align with the enforced policies. There might be browser-specific settings that need adjustment.

Extension Updates: Make sure the browser extension is up to date. Outdated extensions might not comply with the latest policies, causing warning notifications.

    Best Regards,

    Sethu
