Issue:
Salesforce stores "documents" in three different objects: ContentVersion (aka Files), Document, Attachment. WithSecure Cloud Protection for Salesforce does not appear to be checking Documents uploaded via API or Manually. It is testing ContentVersion and Attachment.
Resolution:
In recent years, Salesforce has been emphasizing the use of ContentVersion for storing files, as it is the recommended approach for users. Salesforce Attachments have limitations when it comes to scaling on large projects with a significant amount of content to manage.
Attachments, being an older object, are no longer commonly used in new Salesforce organizations. However, many legacy data in older organizations still rely on Attachments for file storage.
Salesforce is not removing the Attachment feature entirely; instead, they have ceased further development on it and are encouraging users to migrate their files to ContentVersion for better support and scalability. It is advisable for organizations to transition from Attachments to ContentVersion to align with Salesforce's current best practices and to ensure efficient file management.
