<p> </p> Moving Policy Manager Server to a new server <p>This article describes how you can move Policy Manager Server (PMS) to a new server. </p> <p>To move PMS: </p> <ol><li> Backup the current Policy Manager database folder: <ol type="a"><li> Stop the F-Secure Policy Manager Server service (CMD: <code class="code codeInline" spellcheck="false">net stop fsms</code>). </li> <li> Backup <strong><F-Secure>\Management Server 5\data\h2db\</strong> folder. </li> <li> Restart the F-Secure Policy Manager Server service (CMD: <code class="code codeInline" spellcheck="false">net start fsms</code>). </li> </ol></li> <li> Install Policy Manager onto the new server. </li> <li> Apply the backed up Policy Manager database folder to the new Policy Manager: <ol type="a"><li> Stop F-Secure Policy Manager Server service (CMD: <code class="code codeInline" spellcheck="false">net stop fsms</code>). </li> <li> Replace <strong><F-Secure>\Management Server 5\data\h2db\</strong> folder with the previously backed up version. </li> <li> Restart F-Secure Policy Manager Server service (CMD: <code class="code codeInline" spellcheck="false">net start fsms</code>). </li> </ol></li> <li> Configure on both new and old Policy Manager Server address policy setting to point to the new Policy Manager Server. <ol type="a"><li> Open Policy Manager Console. </li> <li> Go to <strong>Settings</strong> > <strong>Centralized management</strong> > <strong>Policy Manager Server settings</strong>. </li> <li> In the <strong>Policy Manager</strong> textbox, type in the new Policy Manager Server address including the host module port number. </li> <li> <strong>Distribute</strong> (Ctrl+D) the new policy. <p><strong>Note:</strong> Restrict the address settings to disallow user changes. This makes sure that the policy variables override the local host value. </p> </li> </ol></li> <li> Once the managed hosts have fetched the new communication settings from the old Policy Manager, they will start communicating with the new Policy Manager Server. </li> </ol><p><strong>Note:</strong> If the hosts are still communicating with the old Policy Manager Server, make sure that the new server's own firewall is allowing inbound connections to configure host module port (default port: 80). </p>
