Mac - Intune deploy

We've started to test deploying WithSecure EPP to Macs with Intune, but can't get it to work. Since MS now support pkg files and removed the possibility to use wrapped .intunemac files. Has anyone got this to work with a pkg file?

What I've done is change the mpkg downloaded from WithSecure and change it to a pkg and upload to Intune. Intune recognizes all packages within but the install still fails.
Also tried installing the mpkg file manually on a Mac, looking in the plist after installed components and removing the packages that are not installed from the list in Intune. When I do that Intune says program is installed correctly but the application on the Mac itself still not working.

You can rename mpkg to pkg, and is required.

It should've been renamed years ago (and in some cases it is downloaded as pkg), but a lot of our infrastrcuture depends on that name.

Internally it is a product package and can safely be renamed to .pkg
