Configuration settings for Mobile Protection with MDM
The documentation explains how to deploy Mobile Protection through Intune MDM. As a requirement, the setting 'Fate_registration_key' should be provided to configure the license key. Three additional settings are suggested: email, alias and env. The first two seem obvious, but can someone explain what 'env' does and what the suggested value of '2' accomplishes?

Hi @Martijn
At the moment, the available information can be found in this admin guide at page 25. The term "env" is utilized to specify whether the system is in CI, STG, or PRODUCTION mode. You can consistently operate in the Production environment, and this is unrelated to the VPN exit node. However, the user action is necessary to accept the permissions and install the VPN profile.

Hi @Martijn
Thank you for reaching out the WithSecure Community,
The 'env' configuration key and its associated value determine the destination to which the VPN endpoint connects. This allows the MDM server to utilize this parameter and set the device's environment variable to 2. The interpretation of this value may vary depending on the specific MDM server and its configuration. For instance, it could signify that the device is operating in either a production or testing environment, or it could specify a particular region or location for the device.

Thank you for the explanaition Sethu. Is this documented somewhere? In the Elements profile, we have configured VPN connection and selected Amsterdam as the location. When or why would we also use this 'env' configuration key?
