How to Access WithSecure Ideas
To access the WithSecure Product Ideas section, follow these steps:
- Log in to the WithSecure Community using your existing account or create a new one if you don't have an account yet.
- If you already have a Community account, your previously submitted ideas will be automatically linked, as the system connects them via your email address.
- If you do not yet have a Community account, registering is quick and easy. This can be done using "sign in" and "register" respectively. When you create a new account, your previously submitted ideas will also be automatically linked to your newly created Community account, as the system connects them via your email address.
- Your nickname (username) will default to the part of your email address before the “@” symbol (e.g., johndoe@example.com will have the username ‘johndoe’). You can update your nickname in your Account & Privacy Settings after registration.
- Navigate to the Product Ideas section via the top menu.
- You will be taken to the Ideas page, where you can browse existing ideas or create new ones.
Search for Your Idea
Before submitting a new idea, use the search bar on the Ideas page to see if your idea has already been listed.
- If your idea exists, you can vote for it and add your comments to provide additional context or support.
- The search bar on the Ideas page is specifically designed to search within the existing ideas for better relevance.
How to Submit a New Idea
If you have an idea you'd like to share, follow these steps to submit it:
- Go to the Ideas page and click the Submit an Idea button.
- Fill out the idea submission form, including:
- Title: A clear and concise name for your idea.
- Description: Provide details about your idea, explaining the problem it solves or the improvement it offers.
- Category: Choose the relevant category for your idea.
- Once you've completed the form, click Save to post your idea.
How to Vote on an Idea
Voting is a key way to support ideas you believe would benefit WithSecure products and services. To vote on an idea:
- Browse or search for the idea you are interested in.
- Click the Upvote button next to the idea to cast your vote.
- You can vote on multiple ideas, but each user can only vote once per idea.
Ideas with the most votes will be more visible to the WithSecure team and may be considered for future product updates or development.

- Click on the idea you want to engage with.

Tracking Idea Progress
WithSecure regularly reviews ideas that gather a lot of interest. You can track the status of ideas in the following ways:
- Needs review – Submitted idea awaiting initial evaluation by the team.
- Being reviewed – Idea is under review by the team for feasibility and priority.
- Future consideration – Idea is not planned for immediate action but may be revisited in the future.
- Already exists – Idea aligns with a feature or solution that already exists.
- Will not implement – Idea will not be pursued due to strategic or technical reasons.
- Planned – Idea is accepted and is in the planning stage for future implementation.
- Shipped – Idea has been implemented and is now part of the product or service.
You can also bookmark ideas you're interested in to easily track their progress. Simply click the Bookmark icon on the idea page to add it to your list of bookmarked posts.
Receiving Notifications on Your Ideas
When comments are made or the status of your ideas changes, you will automatically be notified. You can choose to receive these notifications either via the platform or by email, depending on your preference. To customize your notification settings, visit your profile's notification preferences and select the desired option for platform and/or email alerts.
