How do I create an FSDIAG file on Linux systems? If you have technical issues with your Linux security product, this article tells you how to create an FSDIAG file which you can then attach to your support request.
- Create the FSDIAG file.
Note: Any existing FSDIAG file is overwritten when you create a new one.
F-Secure Linux Security 11.x: - Go to the working directory where you want to create the
fsdiag.tar.gz
file. - Run the following command with root privileges:
/opt/f-secure/fsav/bin/fsdiag
You will find the fsdiag.tar.gz
file in the current working directory.
F-Secure Linux Security 64: F-Secure Linux Protection: F-Secure Internet Gatekeeper: F-Secure Policy Manager for Linux: - On the computer where Policy Manager Server is installed, go to the directory where you want to create the
fsdiag.tar.gz
file. - Run the following command with root privileges:
/opt/f-secure/fspms/bin/fsdiag
You will find the fsdiag.tar.gz
file in the current working directory.
F-Secure ThreatShield: - Attach the file to your support request.
The FSDIAG file contains a log file for each product. If you are using log file rotation, the file extension is different and the log file is not included in the FSDIAG file. In such cases, you may need to provide the log file that corresponds to the date and time of the issue separately.
While the FSDIAG file contains information such as system messages, it only includes up to 300 messages. In some cases, you may need to collect a separate file that corresponds to the data and time of the issue.
