Using a product-specific method for submitting samples to F-Secure Some F-Secure corporate products and F-Secure SAFE include their own sample reporting capabilities. Please check the product and its methods for submitting samples before sending files through the Submit a Sample page.
F-Secure products with sample reporting capabilities
If your F-Secure product includes a button or other functionality to report a sample through its user interface, use that option instead of submitting the sample through the general sample submitting page.
Using the reporting feature in your product ensures that your sample will be processed by the appropriate team in the most efficient way.
F-Secure products with spam filtering capabilities
The best and most efficient way to help us improve our anti-spam capabilities is to follow the reporting method specific for your product.
If you run an email server or gateway product and intend to submit email samples with
.msg
or
.eml
file extensions, report the email samples as described in the following articles:
Note:
Large collections of older malware samples and bulk submissions submitted using the Submit a Sample page may be handled with lower priority than newer threats.
A submitter of samples is considered a bulk submitter if the following criteria are met:
- over a period of 3 months, the submitter has sent us more than ten low-quality reports, probably in an automated fashion
- the samples are of low value and have been already detected earlier or are no longer prevalent
- the submitter has consistently selected a wrong sample category in the Submit a Sample form
- the description of the issue is incomplete.
If you are identified as a bulk submitter, we will get in touch with you to understand your use case better and to discuss alternative methods for sharing your samples.
Bulk submitters whose inbox is not monitored or don't provide any feedback may be switched over to automated processing at F-Secure's discretion.
