What is EDR and MDR?

EDR stands for Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR). Endpoint Detection Response (EDR) solutions are designed to continuously monitor and respond to advanced internet threats. They do this by installing agents or sensors on the endpoints, which collect and send behavioral data to a central database for analysis. Using analytics tools, EDR solutions are able to identify patterns and detect anomalies, which can then be automated to send alerts for remedial action or further investigation. MDR stands for Managed Detection and Response (MDR), which is a managed cybersecurity service that generally provides a 24/7 service for threat detection, response, and remediation. This type of service takes the weight off a company's shoulders in terms of threat and incident management and is a good solution if cyber expertise is not available in-house.
