Issue:
How to release a license to free up the subscription usage for a Endpoint Detection and Response for Business Suites subscription key?
Resolution:
For Client Security 15.20 and Server Security 15.10 and later, a new feature has been included to support unregistering the Endpoint Detection and Response sensor.
Note: We recommend to have Client Security / Server Security 15.30 together with hotfix03 installed, to have the full support of activation/reactivation. Hotfix03 can be downloaded here https://download.f-secure.com/corpro/cs/cs15.30/fscs1530-hf03-signed.jar
To free up the subscription usage for the older product release, you need to uninstall the product from the device using the normal uninstallation method.
You need to remove the Endpoint Detection and Response subscription key you have entered into the Policy Manager Console at Settings(Standard view) > Rapid Detection and Response > Sensor activation. After removing the subscription key, distribute the policy (Ctrl + D).
The Business Suite + EDR license can also be released from the Elements Endpoint Detection and Response portal:
- Log in to the Elements Endpoint Detection and Response portal
- Go to the Devices page
- Select the device
- Click Release subscription from the left side of the screen
- Confirm release by clicking Release
Also devices for which subscription has been released will be visible in Elements Endpoint Detection and Response portal Devices view. After it has been 90 days since last activity devices will be automatically removed from the list.
To remove a device from the portal, you need to remove it from the Elements Endpoint Protection portal:
- Log in to the Elements Endpoint Protection portal
- Go to the Devices page
- Select the devices (a menu will appear from the bottom of the page)
- Click Remove device and confirm that you want to remove the device
